Temperature cycle test method for battery constant temperature and humidity test chamber
According to the IEC 62133/EN62133 standard, portable sealed secondary cells and batteries need to pass the temperature cycle test to determine whether they meet the standard. What kind of battery constant temperature and humidity test chamber is used for the temperature cycle test? Let's take a look below.
Battery temperature cycle test method:
A. Test preparation:
1. Test sample: 5 portable batteries
2. Test equipment: explosion-proof battery constant temperature and humidity test chamber
3. Equipment model: Huanyi Instrument HYH series
4. Meet the standard: IEC 62133/EN62133
B. Test method:
Tip: This test does not apply to coin cell batteries
Fully charged cells and battery packs were temperature cycled (-20℃, +75℃) in a forced-air chamber following the procedure below.
1. Put the battery or battery pack in an ambient temperature of +75℃±2℃ for 4h.
2. Change the ambient temperature to 20℃±5℃ within 30 minutes and keep it at this temperature for at least 2 hours.
3. Change the ambient temperature to -20℃±2℃ within 30 minutes and keep it at this temperature for 4 hours.
4. Change the ambient temperature to 20℃±5℃ within 30 minutes and keep at this temperature for at least 2 hours.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for four more cycles. Transition from step 4 to step 1 in 30 minutes.
6. After the fifth cycle, store the battery and battery pack and check after at least 24 hours.
NOTE: The test can be carried out in a temperature-variable chamber or in three separate chambers at different temperatures.
Acceptance criteria: no fire, no explosion, no leakage.
