voc testing of office furniture requires the use of voc release climate chamber. According to different sizes of furniture samples, appropriate climate chamber is selected for testing. The test process can be divided into four steps: equipment sample preparation, sample testing, air sampling and voc concentration determination.

I. Equipment sample preparation:

1. Equipment requirements: Depending on the sample size, voc climate chamber of 0.05m³~55m³ can be selected, such as HYV-60-4, HYV-1000, HYV-5 and other models of huanyi instrument.

2. Sample requirements: The sample should remove the outer packaging, tags, instructions, sundries, etc., and wipe the sample clean with a soft cloth.

Two, air sampling:

1. Sample placement: Place the sample in the center of the test climate chamber, open all moving parts of the furniture (including doors, drawers, etc.), and place them in a state that is most conducive to the release of harmful substances. The surface of all parts should be exposed to air as far as possible. The position should avoid the air inlet and exhaust port and face the direction of air flow in the cabin. There is a space of 0.15m~1.2m between the sample and the four walls around the climate chamber, and the height of the bottom edge from the climate chamber ground should be greater than 50mm to ensure that there is air circulation around the sample.

2. The test conditions: temperature (23.0 + 0.5) ℃, relative humidity (50 + 5) %, air exchange rate (1.00 + 0.03) h - 1.

Note: If the sample needs to be transferred from the conditioned environment to the climate chamber, the transfer process should be completed within 1h.

Three, air sampling:

Air sample was collected at (96 soil 2)h from closing the hatch. For parallel sampling, the relative deviation value of parallel sample test results should be no more than 15%.

Iv. Determination of voc concentration:

1. The release concentration of total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), 4-phenylcyclohexene and other aldehydes except formaldehyde and acetaldehyde was determined according to Appendix C of GB/T 29899-2013.

2. The determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde release concentration is performed in Appendix D of GB/T 29899-2013.
